Taconic Rangers                 


Open to rising 13U eligible individual players in the Fall of 2021 (2026 and 2027 Graduates) who are interested in joining the Taconic Rangers organization at the 13U/14U playing levels for the Summer of 2022.

The 13U Fall Player ID/Development Program will be directed by former NY Met Minor Leaguer and current Taconic Rangers North Travel Program Director, Al Hammell. Coach Chris Lugbauer will serve as the Assistant Director.
The Taconic Rangers coaching staff will use the 13U Fall Player ID/Development Program for player development and to evaluate interested players to assist in developing our Summer of 2022 13U-14U level rosters for travel play. 
The 13U Fall Program will consist of:
-5 Wednesday Nights "Under the Lights"- We will run a 3-hour baseball session each week from 6:00pm-9:00pm.
  • The Wednesday night sessions will include a player development workout session and then we will transition to Red/Blue Rangers simulated game play with pitchers throwing live sets to hitters to be evaluated by the Taconic Rangers Coaching Staff.

5 weeks of Tuesday-Thursday evening (hoose 6pm-7pm or 7pm-8pm) introduction to baseball specific performance and strength/agility training sessions at NORTHSTAR SPORTS with professional NorthStar trainers. We believe this is a key component in a player's advancement through High School Varsity and College Baseball.
  • Tuesday/Thursday evening sessions will be 1-hour sessions serving as an introduction to baseball specific performance and strength/agility workouts. Players will be assigned into one of the two separate time slots for 5 weeks (10 sessions in total) at NORTHSTAR SPORTS 66 Page Park Drive, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601. Players can attend twice a week, once a week, or not at all, depending on their own weekly fall schedule. All players/pitchers will be provided with their baseline physical strength and agility metrics; as well as their baseline hitting/pitching RAPSODO and BLAST MOTION metrics to be utilized to track hitter/pitcher progress as we prepare for our 4 MONTH WINTER WORKOUT PROGRAM at NorthStar Sports for selected players beginning in November. We are excited about our partnership with NorthStar Sports and the use of these performance metrics and training facilities to enhance our Taconic Rangers baseball player development program.​

-Spots in the 2021 Taconic Rangers 13U Fall Player ID/Development Program will be LIMITED at each position and will be given on a first-come/first-served basis once a player is accepted into the program.

-There will be no partial registrations, no refunds. Makes-up dates will be announced in the case of inclement weather.
-Please understand that your participation in the Fall Prospect Program DOES NOT guarantee you a spot on a 2022 Taconic Rangers 13U-14U summer roster. 
-For the Fall Program, positional play time, batting order placement, and innings pitched during the weekly workouts and Red/Blue game play will be based on ability and performance as evaluated by the Taconic Rangers coaching staff.
-The player fee for the 13U Fall Player ID/Development Program is $450($450 non-refundable full payment is due with registration to secure your spot. Spots will be given on a first-come, first-served basis.)
Payment includes- 5 Wednesday Night 2.5hr baseball sessions; 10 Tuesday-Thursday NorthStar introduction to performance strength/agility training sessions; Player baseline physical strength and agility metrics; Player Rapsodo and Blast Motion hitting/pitching baseline metric measurements; a Rangers jersey, hat, and belt. Players will provide their own gray baseball pants, catcher's gear, and batting helmets.
*Please be sure you have read all of the information above and consider all of these factors carefully as you decide whether or not this is the program for you for this fall season. If you have any questions regarding the structure of the program please call and ask those questions BEFORE committing to the program. Only program credit will be given should your player not participate.
